I was out driving yesterday and decided to visit my alma matter to see how much has changed since I was a student there 20 years ago. The building looked the same from the front but once inside it was very different from when I ran the halls.
The place was huge now compared to my days there but at the same time felt small. I can't say it was the fact that I grew up.. OK well maybe that I grew up in a mental sense.. yeah yeah that's it.
It was great to see so many more students now getting an excellent education there and sadly hardly anyone I knew from the good old days was there except maybe 5 people.
Gone are the days of Freshman initiation and Senior Slave week. Harmless fun in my day but, in today's society it is labeled as harassment and teaching slavery.
I understand while some things are gone, there are great things coming for my school. They have an excellent sports program, expanded the campus, have over 1000 alumni, and have more things in store for the future.
All in all it was great to see that while things have changed; they have, for the most part, changed for the better.
